James Mark Jones
I began creating art professionally in the year 2000. I’ve worked in stained glass, metal, collage, and assemblage.
I was inspired to work with recycled paper and acrylics in February 2021 and after some experimentation, I began production in March 2021. Over 90% of the materials that I use in my work are recycled.
I was blocked creatively for over 10 years due to debilitating depression and anxiety, but thanks to new treatments, I’m creating again. My two biggest passions are mental health advocacy and creating art with recycled materials. I want to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and I want to encourage others to reuse waste materials to create art. Somewhere in the middle is where I find harmony.
